All Missouri attorneys are required to register with The Missouri Bar. When someone calls to inquire about an attorney, we can give that person the attorney's bar number, we can check to see whether the attorney is in Good Standing, and we can supply that person with the attorney's address.
Attorneys (just like everyone else in the world) move, change firms or firm names, get new email addresses, get new fax machines, get new phone numbers, etc. If The Missouri Bar doesn't have accurate information, not only can it be a problem for the attorneys we serve, but it can also be a problem for a potential or current client. If that potential client doesn't have your current information -- they'll go elsewhere.
Here's some good advice. If you're an attorney and you're not sure how you're listed with The Missouri Bar, go on-line to the "Members" section at www.mobar.org and check. If you need to update your information -- you can do it quickly.
That's a good reminder for everyone. If you've moved, changed phones, changed your email address, got a fax machine, or changed your fax number -- no one will know about that new information unless you tell them.
