Find out at the Anatomy of a Trial in St. Louis this Spring...
The Missouri Bar and St. Louis University School of Law are teaming up to offer a public education program that should interest anyone who wants to know what really happens in a trial and why.
The Anatomy of a Trial will be an exceptional series of presentations, taught by St. Louis area lawyers and judges. This unique learning experience begins Wednesday, March 31, 2010, and meets each Wednesday evening from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the St. Louis University School of Law, Room 303, 37000 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, MO. The entire seven-week program costs only $25.00, payable at the time of registration. Course material will be provided at no additional cost.
From opening argument to the judge's final instructions to the jury -- you'll get a behind-the-scenes view of a fascinating case. The sessions will include dramatic reenactments that illustrate the different elements of a trial. An experienced lawyer or judge will dissect the action, providing an in-depth view of the trial process. For teaching purposes, the faculty will build the course presentations around a single case, involving a person who sues based on an alleged wrongful death in the family.
We read or hear about newsworthy trials on a regular basis. By attending the Anatomy of a Trial, you'll gain a new perspective on Missouri trials as well as trials occurring in other jurisdictions. You'll understand the rules that the lawyers must play by and some of the strategies that help build a case or destroy it.
To register, call 1-866-788-4677, Ext. 101. You can register online at: The Missouri Bar-Trial. Attendance will be limited, so please be sure to register as soon as possible.
This is a public educational series, open to all adults age 16 and over. No school credit is available, but there also won't be any tests or homework. Those who attend the seven sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion from The Missouri Bar & St. Louis University School of Law.
