The Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association's Lawyer Referral Service closed on Christmas Day.
Our service, The Missouri Bar Lawyer Referral Service, has taken the responsibility for the counties they were handling. We've added the following counties to our area: Ray, Jackson, Clay, Platte, and Cass counties. The State Bar of Kansas is now handling referrals of potential clients to attorneys who are in Kansas.
The KCMBA referral service mailed a letter to all the attorneys in their service and notified them they were closing. They encouraged those members to join The Missouri Bar Lawyer Referral Service. We're receiving membership applications from some of the attorneys in those areas, adding them into our system, and we're referring potential clients to them.
Due to the timing of the KCMBA announcement and the holiday season, we know we'll have some changes to adjust to and bumps in the road -- so far, no potholes -- just tiny bumps here and there!
